Dr. Mufudzi Chihambakwe, M.Tech (Chiro) is passionate about public service, health care, creativity and development across Africa. He was born and raised in Zimbabwe, studied chiropractic in Durban, South Africa and is now based in Gaborone, Botswana, where he serves as the Clinic Coordinator for World Spine Care Botswana. Their newest clinic, the Broadhurst 3 clinic in Gaborone is in its third year of operation in a low-income neighborhood.

He is the current president of the African Chiropractic Federation, an organization devoted to the promotion and unity of the chiropractic profession across the continent of Africa. He was elected President of the Botswana Association of Chiropractors in January 2024. He co-founded Spine Health Africa in 2017 in his last year of chiropractic college.

As an aspiring researcher, in 2019 he published his first research paper in Chiropractic and Manual Therapies and is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Inclusive Innovation at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, exploring how spine care can be innovated to scale in underserved communities.

He was honored to deliver the 2023 Dr John A. Sweaney lecture at the World Federation of Chiropractic global general assembly in Gold, Coast Australia. In March 2021 he published his first book Twenty- A Reflection exploring themes around young adulthood in Southern Africa as well as looking back at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. He also writes a blog called Heartinscriber where he explores themes such as Afro-futurism, health and young adulthood.
