Physiotherapy students, supervised by clinical faculty, provide care to patients in the hospital clinic.

Clinic Supervisor
Dr. Kshitija Jadhav recently assumed the role of Clinic Supervisor at MGM University’s World Spine Care clinic.
Kshitija Jadhav
Dr. Kshitija Jadhav is one of the Assistant Professors at Mahatma Gandhi University School of Physiotherapy. Kshitija has 2.5 years of clinical experience in the field of musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. She completed her Master's in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Bachelor's Physiotherapy from Seth G.S. Medical College, KEMH Hospital Mumbai. Her expertise lies in manual therapy and spine rehabilitation. Her areas of research interests include chronic pain and spine rehabilitation. She has worked at Live Active Sports clinic and Saifee Hospital as a Consultant Physiotherapist.
Dr. Jadhav took over the position of Clinical Supervisor of the World Spine Care Clinic from Dr. Anisha Gulati in June 2022.
A different model.
MGM University of Health Sciences department of physiotherapy and WSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2016. Professor and Director Rajani Mullerpatan PhD, MSc PT, has been instrumental in the development of the collaboration to improve spine care for under-served communities in Mumbai and Maharashtra. MGM Institute of Health Sciences is one of the premier educational institutions in India, offering Medicine, Physiotherapy, Orthopedic and Neuro Surgery, and several other medical and allied health specialties with a vision of improving people’s quality of life, both at individual and community levels by imparting quality medical education to tomorrow’s health care professionals. Located at the brink of urban and rural India, MGMIHS is in the best position to evaluate and address the healthcare needs of both sectors of people.
The collaboration between WSC and MGM is a great opportunity to develop models for this part of India to help prevent spine disability and manage evidence-based spine care in under-served communities in collaboration with the villages while respecting the traditions and cultures of the region. The collaboration provides many unique opportunities including:
To provide urban and rural clinical services for the management of spinal disorders.
To train future spine care providers by creating a curriculum for teaching evidence-based approaches to the assessment and management of spinal disorders.
To collaborate on research relating to spine pain. MGM Institute of Health Sciences has a state-of-the-art movement laboratory – at MGM Centre of Human Movement Science – which is able to collect kinematic, kinetic, EMG, and metabolic data.
This initiative is in tune with the focus of MGMIHS on finding better, safer, and affordable ways of diagnosing, treating, and preventing disease.
