Sitting at a Computer

Clinic supervisor, Dr. James Leonard, demonstrates posture recommendations while sitting at a computer.

Sitting for prolonged periods of time can lead to neck and low back pain, but if you sit properly you can reduce the intensity of this discomfort.

Make sure you are sitting close to your workspace in a hard-backed chair and sit all the way back in your chair. Retract your chin so your head is over your shoulders.

Sometimes, adding extra support to your lower back can improve your posture. For example, you can roll a simple bath towel and place it in your lower back.
