Heartfelt thanks to Jesal Parikh, Yoga Project Instructor
It is with deep gratitude and respect that we announce that Jesal Parikh will be moving forward from the World Spine Care Yoga Project team.
Jesal has been an invaluable member of our team for the last 3 years. She has helped build the program in fundamental ways including the creation and launch of the level 2 program in Botswana in 2018. Her amazing expertise in functional anatomy and biomechanics, social media, equity, and intersectionality have been invaluable.
WSCYP will be employing Jesal as a consultant, in the future, to help us look deeper at our impact vs. intention regarding issues of equity, intersectionality, and appropriation. It is no small thing to create, learn, and run an international NGO program especially when we are socialized to rush forward with great intentions. Continuing to clarify intention vs. impact, continuing to look at where we have misstepped, and altering our practices is of utmost importance to the YP. This is knowledge we have also gained by having Jesal on our team. We look forward to the continued evolution ahead for Jesal and for the WSCYP.
If you want to follow Jesal’s incredible work in the world please visit to www.yogawallanyc.com, follow her on IG/FB @yogawalla, and listen to her on the Yoga Is Dead podcast.
Thank you Jesal for your time, efforts, humor, and expertise.
Our best,
Erin and Letizzia
