Register for this Virtual Workshop on Bone and Musculoskeletal Health

The International Federation of Musculoskeletal Research Societies has announced the return of their annual workshop with sessions to be held virtually and in Bruges, Belgium.

The IFMRS is the only genuinely global organization representing all of musculoskeletal research, including basic, translational and clinical research, and covering everything from rare diseases to osteoporosis to osteoarthritis to sarcopenia and fragility fractures.

The Herbert Fleisch Workshop is designed to bring together excellent international investigators and young and mid-career scientists working in bone and cartilage research, for vigorous data discussion and networking.

The in-person workshop will be held from 20-22 November this year and sessions will cover genomics research related to musculoskeletal conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, bone mineralization and other rare genetic diseases, and the research on cell metabolism and pathologies.

The virtual workshop will be this April 19-21. Of particular interest to our audience is the second workshop that will focus on Overcoming challenges for musculoskeletal health in low and middle-income countries during two interactive sessions.

The speakers will be Dr Ayse Zengin from Monash University (Australia), who will be speaking on the subject of embedding musculoskeletal health in the co-management of multi-morbidities in LMICs, and Dr Alexander Schade from the University of Warwick (UK), who will be discussing the epidemiology of fractures in Malawi linked to road traffic injuries together with one of his Master’s students.

The virtual workshops are FREE to attend, and registered participants can submit questions in advance of each workshop.
