Richard Brown elected Vice President of World Spine Care (USA) Board
Last month, the board of directors of World Spine Care (USA) elected Richard Brown as Vice President.
Dr. Richard Brown has served as Secretary General of the World Federation of Chiropractic since 2015. During his tenure, the WFC has placed a strong emphasis on an evidence-based, people-centered, interprofessional, and collaborative approach to spine care.
"We are extremely pleased that Dr. Richard Brown has agreed to serve as Vice President of the Board of Directors of World Spine Care,” said Dr. Scott Haldeman, founder and president of World Spine Care. “He brings to the board extensive experience and connections internationally through his leadership of the WFC. He spent a month in Botswana as a volunteer clinician and is very familiar with the mission of WSC. He brings to the board a commitment to interdisciplinary care for patients who are disabled by spinal disorders and who have limited or no access to care."
“I am honored to take up this position within World Spine Care and thank my fellow Board members for the trust they have placed in me,” Dr. Brown said. “It is more important now than ever to ensure equitable access to evidence-based spine care to underserved communities around the world and I am looking forward to addressing these disparities through the work of World Spine Care.”
In 2015, Dr. Brown volunteered at the World Spine Care clinics in Mahalapye and Shoshong, Botswana. Richard joined the World Spine Care Board of Directors in November 2019.
Dr. Brown qualified as a chiropractor at AECC University College (1990). He worked in continuous private practice for 25 years in the United Kingdom. During this time, he furthered his education by attaining a Master’s degree in law from Cardiff University (2009). Whilst in practice Richard had a particular interest in the non-surgical, non-pharmacological management of spinal pain and disability.
