Join the European Spine Ride in Spain this Summer
World Spine Care Europe will host its annual European Spine Ride this summer. You can join the team riding through the beautiful countryside of northern Spain, starting in Logrono and ending 500 miles later in the beautiful town of Santiago de Compostela.
Each year, World Spine Care Europe, led by President Adam Wilkey, embarks on a cycling journey through a part of Europe. Previous years have found the peloton pushing pedals through pastures of lavender in France, enjoying expansive vistas of the southern coast of England, or riding their exercise bikes in the comfort of their own home. Each of these impressive efforts is done to raise awareness and funds for World Spine Care Europe, one of three registered charitable non-profit organizations whose mission is to improve lives in underserved communities through sustainable, integrated, evidence-based spine care.
This year, Dr. Wilkey, with 14 friends, colleagues, and supporters, will cruise through northern Spain, starting in Logroño on 28 June 2023. For 7 days, the path will follow the famed Camino trail over challenging hills and through open plains, finishing nearly 500 miles later on 4 July 2023.
The cyclists are supported by a large van carrying supplies, spares, and sustenance – although there will be plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy local pastries, espressos, and paella! Accommodations have been arranged along the route.
