World Spine Care joins SPINE20 Partner Society
World Spine Care accepted to the SPINE20 Partner Society Advisory Board
World Spine Care, a non-profit organization registered in the USA, Canada, and the United Kingdom, was accepted as a partner society to SPINE20, an advocacy group working to recommend policies to improve spine care globally.
Since its inception, SPINE20 is an emerging authority on spinal health, with a mission to optimize treatment in the global community to ensure patients have access to the best spine care possible in their respective regions. The initiative brings together 20 leading organizations from around the world who share a commitment to promoting best practices in spine care. As a partner society, World Spine Care will have a seat on the Partner Society Advisory Board to work alongside other esteemed members to provide governments with the expertise needed to improve spine care around the globe.
“The future of spine care depends on promoting a broad continuum of care from primary care to rehabilitation and surgery,” said Prof. Margareta Nordin, SPINE20 Speaker and past president of World Spine Care Europe. “For the past 12 years, World Spine Care has demonstrated their expertise in providing primary spine care via their clinics in low- to middle-income countries. Their insight on the Partner Society Advisory Board is welcome. It will help other member societies of SPINE20 come together as a ‘Global Spine Community’ for our patients, communities, and how to influence decision makers with evidence.”
The acceptance of World Spine Care into the SPINE20 initiative is a significant milestone for the global spinal health community. With this new partnership, we are one step closer to achieving our goal of improving spine health for all people around the world.
SPINE20 held its 3rd Annual Summit this year in Bali, Indonesia, from 4-5 August 2022. World Spine Care representatives attended and presented both in person and virtually. The theme for this year’s meeting was “Spine Care: Work Together to Recover Stronger”.
Following the 2020 and 2021 Annual Meetings, World Spine Care endorsed the SPINE20 Recommendations to the G20, which were published in the European Spine Journal.1
World Spine Care is excited to work with SPINE20 and continue our mission of improving spine health for all people worldwide.
